At Royalty Canines Spa, our mission is always humanity over vanity. While every pet deserves to look their best, we will never put appearance above their comfort, safety, or well-being.
✨ What Is Dematting?
Dematting is the process of carefully working out tangles and mats from a pet’s coat. Small tangles can usually be removed gently during grooming, but severe matting can cause pain, skin irritation, and even injury if forced out.
Our Dematting Protocol
- Minor Tangles: We’ll brush out light mats as part of the grooming process.
- Severe Matting: If mats are tight to the skin, we will recommend a “comfort cut” (shorter style) rather than prolonged or painful brushing.
- Time & Safety Limit: We limit dematting to 15 minutes increments at additional cost. Anything beyond 45 mins, risks causing discomfort and stress to your pet.
- Comfort First: Pets with heavy matting will receive a humane clip-down to reset the coat, keeping them happy, healthy, and tangle-free.
